Where is food photography heading? Authors Henrik Yde and Steven Achiam will talk about the collaborate process of making Dead and Fermented. The book received the Gourmand Award for best photography in a cookbook. By employing crime noir and a documentary approach they made an unusual publication that follows a murder investigation leading into the Asian restaurant business.

About Henrik and Steven

HENRIK YDE (1970) is the founder and brainchild of Restaurant Kiin Kiin in Copenhagen, the only Thai restaurant to be awarded a star in the Michelin Guide. Yde has played host & judge on the cooking show Master chef Denmark season 1. He was given the Diploma for cooking by the Academy for culinary art in Denmark 2009 and restaurant Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin was listed as 29 on Pellegrino Asia 50 best restaurants 2013.

STEVEN ACHIAM (1976) is a photojournalist with focus on social issues and human rights stories. Achiam collaborated on the Gourmand. Winner of best photography in a cookbook Dead and Fermented with Henrik Yde. Earlier this year he won best interactive multimedia of the year from Danish Press Photo of the Year for the roleplay documentary Deadline Athens about uncompanied refugees. He is based in Copenhagen.
